The Kobe tsunami information web service provided by the Kobe City Government "kokokuru?" gives information on tsunami evacuation. It is a worrying likelihood that an earthquake and tsunami will happen in the Nankai Trough in the near future. This site provides information such as where to evacuate if a tsunami alert is issued and you are in Kobe City, a tsunami hazard map showing predicted flooding levels, and a range of other things you should know to prepare for a tsunami. You can also send your location using GPS to friends and family with "kokokuru?".
Use this site to enjoy your time in Kobe with peace of mind.
This tsunami hazard map was based on National Nankai Trough Earthquake tsunami predictions (announced 29th August 2012) and the "Nankai Trough Earthquake Tsunami Flooding Prediction Map" (released 19th February 2014) created as a result of simulations carried out independently by Hyogo Prefecture.
Please refer to the "Nankai Trough Earthquake Tsunami Flooding Prediction Map" page on the Hyogo Prefecture website for an explanation of how to use the map and points to consider.
Finally, as well as using GPS to easily find the predicted flooding of your current location, you can also use it to share your location with friends and family on Facebook and other internet platforms.
